I am completely obsessed with the Colourpop super shock eyeshadows. I have a few that I have collected over the last couple of months. But we will be here a long time if I review each and every one of them. I recently got “Where the Light Is” by Kathleenlights. This has been on my wish list for a very long time and I am pleased to say I have it now.
I am quite surprised by the texture of the eyeshadows is between a cream, powder and mouse and it is a bouncy texture when you touch it. When applied it feels creamy but it dries down to a powder textured.
At first I was not sure but how to use it but once I started using it I once again seem to reach for these every morning. The pigmentation is awesome and the lasting power is amazing. The colour do not move all day. I have tested with and without primer and I have the same result. It lasts up to 12 hours. I have extremely oily eyelids and the staying power of these eyeshadows are incredible.
There are a large variety of finishes: matte, satin, metallic, iridescent, glitter, neon….. and I gravitate towards the matte, satin, pearlized and metallic range….. although they say I should not be wearing metallic eyeshadows at my age (I say whatever!) I love the little bit of shimmer to catch the light in the middle of my eyelid.
“Where the Light Is” Kathleenlights Pallette:
The quad has four shades and sells for $20, the colours can also be bought individually at $5 each. The colours in the palette are amazingly addictive; Kathleenlights, Blaze, Cornelious and Glow;
Kathleenlights – This is a bright golden copper in a pearlized finish. It has a warm gold undertone and I love to use the shimmer in the middle of my eyelids.
Blaze – This has to be my absolute favourite of all the shade. It’s a coco bronze sprinkled with multi-dimensional glitter in a metallic finish, this colour is amazing. It’s very luminous and has different shades depending on the angle you look at the colour, bronze/khaki dark gold metallic with glitter. I love this colour so much that I use the shade alone on my eyelids as a single shadow look.
Cornelious – a mid-tone caramel matte finish, this shade is perfect to use as the transition shade. It definitely helps me define my crease as I tend toward hooded eyes.
Glow – a light creamy vanilla matte finish, it’s a perfect colour to use all over the lid or highlight the brow bone and can also be use to give that pop of colour in the inner corners.
There are directions on the website and the brand recommends to apply with your fingertips for best coverage. I have to agree however I only like to use my fingertips when I want to intensify the colour in the middle of my eyelids.
I normally use a synthetic brush to apply the eyeshadows and then I use a synthetic fluffy brush to blend the colours.
The packaging is a round white plastic jar which a little bulky but I do not mind. One of the most important things is to always close the lid tightly so that the eyeshadow do not dry out!
